We are sad to report the passing of Dietmar Schoeffel. Dietmar Maximilian Schoeffel was born in Czechoslovakia in 1931 and moved to the USA in 1957. He founded Schoeffel Instruments, and later acquired McPherson Instruments; both companies are well known for the manufacture and supply of spectroscopy instrumentation.
