Jeol’s new JMS-TQ4000GC is a GC-triple quadrupole mass spectrometer with high-speed SRM switching of 1000 channels/s. It is designed with a short collision cell that provides ion accumulation with reduced noise level, rapid pulsed ion ejection without crosstalk and high-speed GC measurement for routine analysis. The short collision cell accumulates ions and ejects them in rapid pulses. The noise level of the signal is reduced by synchronising the timing between pulsed ion ejection and signal acquisition, making high sensitivity analysis possible. In addition to the standard electron ionisation source, chemical ionisation and photoionisation sources are supported. It is also possible to perform analyses with two types of direct insertion probes.
