Princeton Instruments has introduced the SpectraPro HRS-500, the most recent addition to the SpectraPro HRS series of spectrographs and monochromators. This 500-mm focal length spectrograph and scanning monochromator features high spectral resolution and an astigmatism-corrected optical system for multichannel fibre applications. The optical performance of the HRS-500 is further optimised via ResXtreme, Princeton Instruments’ exclusive spectral deconvolution technology, which is provided with every SpectraPro HRS spectrograph. ResXtreme improves spectral resolution, peak intensities and consistency across the 2D focal plane by as much as 60%.
The SpectraPro HRS-500 offers researchers the option of two exit and two entrance ports, providing experiment versatility. Exit ports with a 14 mm × 30 mm focal plane allow the mounting and operation of two array detectors (which could include any of Princeton Instruments’ CCD, EMCCD, ICCD, sCMOS or InGaAs detectors) or enable the instrument to operate as both a monochromator and a spectrograph.
The SpectraPro HRS-500 can utilise as many as three interchangeable triple-grating turrets and also includes Princeton Instruments’ AccuDrive™ that improves wavelength accuracy and repeatability over previous scan systems and increases grating-to-grating wavelength precision to sub-pixel repeatability.
