Custom/OEM FT-IR engine based on the IRD 3 (an established, dedicated vapour-phase GC-IR detector). Versions are available with spectral ranges of 8000–400 cm–1 (with standard KBr beamsplitter), 6000–600 cm–1 (with optional ZnSe beamsplitter) and 12,000–1800 cm–1 (optional CaF2 beamsplitter). Resolution is 2 cm–1. Can be supplied sealed and desiccated or nitrogen purged.



ATR Pro One

Single-reflection ATR accessory using a newly designed monolithic diamond crystal to provide much higher throughput. A “torque limiter” pressure applicator ensures reproducible sample pressures. A high-throughput model is optimised for mid-IR measurements and a broadband model for use into the far-IR. ZnSE or Ge crystal kits are available.

Starna Scientific

FT-IR ISO/IEC 17025 Wavelength Reference

Polystyrene film reference certified under ISO/IEC 17025 and traceable to NIST SRM 1921b for those in regulated industries and who need to comply with USP Chapters 854 and 1854. The references are card-mounted films and are supplied with a Certificate of Calibration listing wavenumber values for 14 peaks from 539 cm–1 to 3082 cm–1. They are available in two thicknesses: 38 µm for mid-IR and 65 µm with some additional peaks in the NIR.


Thermo Scientific


Hand-held spectrometer that combines both FT-IR and Raman spectroscopies in a single instrument. Libraries are included to enable operators to identify unknowns ranging from explosives and chemical warfare agents to industrial chemicals and precursors. Switching between the two techniques is quick and is done via either the keypad or touchscreen. A motorised anvil adjusts sample pressure based on user settings for FT-IR analysis. Built-in safety features including a scan delay also increase protection from potentially hazardous substances.





High-performance spectrofluorophotometer offering high sensitivity and signal-to-noise ratio, enabling accurate and quantitative measurements over a six-order dynamic range, from 10–13 mol L–1 to 10–7 mol L–1. 3D scanning of 60,000 nm min–1 enables acquisition of a 3D fluorescence spectrum in a short time, with individual scans acquired in in 1 s. The upper wavelength is 900 nm and the xenon lamp has a 2000-hour service life and auto alignment technology.



B&W Tek


LIBS analyser with a high repetition rate, matchbox-size microLIBS laser available in hand-held or portable versions. Can operate with Linux, Android or Windows operating systems and the software enables development of particular applications by users. A patent-pending chemometric/calibration engine enables the identification and quantitation of pure materials.




Hand-held LIBS analyser for metals identification, for instance in the scrap industry. It can analyse light elements quantitatively. A large touchscreen makes operation intuitive for all users and is built with shock and moisture resistance and no moving parts.


Glass Expansion


New version of this programmable temperature spray chamber for ICP-OES and ICP-MS. The inbuilt Peltier device now controls temperature to any value set between –25°C to +90°C in 1°C increments.



PinAAcle 500

Fully integrated, flame-only atomic absorption spectrometer. A touchscreen interface, which can be mounted on either side of the instrument, allows operation via the Syngistix Touch software or the instrument can be controlled by the Syngistix for AA software. A new FAST Flame sample automation accessory can be coupled to the spectrometer.




New version of this high-resolution ICP-OES spectrometer offering axial and radial plasma observation with no optical compromise, CCD optical system that has a resolution of 8.5 pm in the 130–340 nm range, solid-state power generator that provides high plasma power for extreme or quickly changing plasma loads, sealed optical chamber does not require purging and no need for external cooling.




Applied Rigaku Technologies


Low-cost, bench-top ED XRF spectrometer for quantitative determination of sodium to uranium in solids, liquids, powders and alloys. Designed for routine QC applications, it has an icon-driven touch screen interface and built-in printer. It uses a 50 kV X-ray tube and a Peltier-cooled silicon drift detector.


Experimenter’s XRF Kit

A package for a user to start quickly doing elemental analysis by XRF. Includes hardware and software, and once assembled and the software configured and calibrated, simple analyses can be performed. It is a general purpose kit and is suitable for educators.


S2 Kodiak

Online multi-element analyser using XRF spectrometery to analyse elemental concentrations of ores and other materials on conveyor belts in real time. All components are sealed in a temperature-stabilised stainless steel housing and the whole system is designed to withstand rough conditions. For operation in remote locations, it is designed to run autonomously and maintenance-free.

S1 Titan

Second generation of this hand-held XRF analyser. Enhancements include a weatherproof IP54-rated housing and optional integrated camera and small spot collimator.

S2 Ranger with XFlash V5 LE

The new XFlash V5 LE silicon drift detector improves light element performance for the S2 Ranger X-ray spectrometer for applications in cement, minerals and mining, petrochemistry, and research. A larger detector area allows higher sample throughput and lower detection limits.

M6 Jetstream

Large format scanning micro-XRF spectrometer capable of scanning an area up to 800 × 600 mm2 with a scanning speed of up to 100 mm s–1. Designed to analyse very large objects on-site in a single run with spatial resolution between 50 µm and 1200 µm. The measuring head has a low power micro-focus X-ray tube with a software-controlled primary filter changer and focusing poly-capillary X-ray optics, plus a XFlash silicon drift detector.


Magpro 60 kV 12 W X-ray Source

This is designed for portable and bench-top XRF and XRD instruments. Its small spot size makes it applicable for X-ray imaging applications. It uses a metal-ceramic tube and voltage ranges from 4 kV to 60 kV; the beryllium window is 0.25 mm thick.

Newton Scientific

X-ray Sources

Range of standard and custom miniature X-ray sources. Standard sources are 50 kV and from 2 W to 10 W and suitable for use with DC or battery power sources. A variety of target materials is available and the enclosures are fully machined.


Epsilon 3X

Upgraded benchtop XRF spectrometer with 50 kV excitation and high-resolution silicon drift detector enabling analysis from sodium to americium. The Epsilon 3XLE has a more powerful SDD that makes analysis of lighter elements such as C, N and O possible. A variety of software options for standardless analysis, fingerprinting, regulatory compliance or multi-layer analysis is available.

Epsilon 1

ED XRF spectrometer for research and education pre-programmed for XRF analysis from simple element identification and quantification to more sophisticated analysis. Has a silicon drift detector and wide range of excitation capabilities from 10 kV to 50 kV for light and heavy elements. Also available in custom versions pre-programmed for mining and milk analysis.


HD Maxine

Rugged, bench-top XRF analyser for determination of trace metals in crudes, lubricants and used oils with extensive sample preparation or consumables. Enables direct analysis of metals from phosphorus to lead. It has a touch screen user interface and requires no utilities other than electricity.





Designed to do consecutive sample and reference measurements in a controlled environment. No fibre cables are used and drifting of the light source is automatically corrected in AvaSoft. It has two cuvette holders in the front, which can be covered to prevent any light interference. Selection between the two paths is through software or the front side switch. The path length is variable up to 60 mm, making low concentration measurements possible.

Horiba Scientific


Integrated microspectrometer that combines a versatile microscope head directly coupled to a triple-grating imaging spectrometer and a research grade scientific camera. It has a spectral range from 200 nm to 1600 nm. The microscope head includes an embedded digital imaging camera, allowing direct viewing of the sample.

Ocean Optics

DH-mini Light Source

Compact, high-intensity source combining deuterium and tungsten halogen sources in a single optical path, producing stable output from 200 nm to 2500 nm. Stability is 0.2% peak to peak and drift 0.1% per hour after stabilisation.

STS-UV Microspectrometer

Measures 40 × 42 × 24 mm and covering 190–650 nm. A 1024-element detector with a crossed Czerny–Turner optical bench is used. Can be integrated into other devices or used next to a process line for QC measurements. Several software options are available.
